One more long run left

Today was my 2nd last long run in my program. 2:30hrs. Ended up being about 31km. It was a pretty good session, made up of 75min easy, then 2 x 20min @ marathon pace (Z2) with 10min reco. By the end of the 2nd effort, my left foot felt a bit ordinary. It was more the strapping than the foot itself I think. So I need to strap that better next time, as I only did a half arsed job this morning, as I was in a hurry. I nearly didn't get up on time, as I stuffed my alarm setting (didn't set it!) and luckily woke up 5 min after I was due to get up anyway, at 4:50.

The weather was nice early and coolish but then the sun broke through some clouds and it become a bit hotter. I ran down the coast from home to Swanny and then along the train track bike path to Claremont, past Christchurch school and then followed the river around Victoria Ave & Jutland Pde. I then ducked down to the river near Warrawee lodge and ran along past all the yacht clubs to Matilda Bay etc. It was a fairly picturesque run - beach and river views most of the way. I think we get a bit blase about how lucky we are to have such a nice place to train - it so beats what a lot of people have.

The last bit was hard, as I got to Barrack St and had another 15min to run...so had to keep running down towards the Causeway for a while and then back to the office. That last 3-4km was getting hard, the legs felt somewhat drained. I was glad to stop. Next week is an easy/testing week, so no long run. Just a 5kTT instead. So after that there is only one long run left
