Another day, another improvement. Well sort of...
I re-tested my swim threshold pace this morning - with a 1k TT. Last times test was completed just after getting back into the pool after an extended lay off post-HIM. So I was fully expecting to show some improvement. The goal of the session is to warm up and then swim as hard as you can manage for 1000m. I managed about 18:50min last time and came in this morning at 17:47. So that is heading the right way. I then use the time to work out my 'T-Pace' - which is just a fancy name for what my baseline 100m time is. I then use it in my program to train at T+5" pace or T - 3"-5" pace etc. So mine went from 1:52 to 1:47 pace. That should make my 100's a bit harder!
I woke up a bit early and decided to hit the pool before work - for the 1st time ever! I got to Bold Park just as the squad swimmers were leaving the pool. So that worked out pretty good. Think I will try and do that again sometime. It made a couple pints at lunchtime possible!
